The previous layout was dominated by a large island that restricted movement between rooms, while limited storage, worktop space and an awkwardly positioned TV made the kitchen less practical to use. For this project, we needed to address these challenges, while improving the flow between the kitchen and adjoining rooms. 

The new design focuses on creating clearly defined zones and a more intuitive layout. Increased worktop space and carefully planned storage ensure everything has its place, making everyday cooking and entertaining feel easier and more organised. 

The cabinetry is Häcker Hampton Painted Ash Shaker, finished in Eucalyptus, a soft, muted green shade. With blue undertones, it brings colour and character while retaining the kitchen's classic feel. Antique brass details add warmth throughout, with coordinating handles and Hendel & Hendel shelf brackets creating a considered, cohesive finish. 

Dekton Keena is used across the worktops and splashback, providing a durable surface with a refined stone-inspired appearance. The generous worktop space was an important part of the redesign, providing significantly more room for preparation and everyday use. 

NEFF Flex Collection appliances include Slide & Hide ovens and a dishwasher, alongside a Siemens induction hob. A statement Faber extractor hood in brass complements the other metallic details throughout the kitchen.  

A large 1.5-bowl stainless steel sink is paired with an Abode tap in Antique Brass, continuing the coordinated finish across the handles, shelf brackets and extractor. 

Storage has been significantly improved, including a bespoke larder with internal drawers that keeps essentials organised and easily accessible. Glazed cabinetry with reeded glass and internal lighting provides a dedicated place to display favourite pottery while adding visual interest to the far end of the kitchen. Open shelving near the kettle creates a convenient tea and coffee area, while LED task lighting provides practical illumination throughout. 

LVT flooring laid in a parquet style completes the space, introducing warmth and subtle pattern while complementing the traditional Shaker cabinetry. 

Although this was a supply-only project, our involvement extended beyond supplying the kitchen, with the usual care, interest and oversight maintained throughout.  

The finished design resolves the challenges of the previous layout, creating a kitchen with better flow, greater storage and a more natural connection between cooking, seating and entertaining.
