Classic White Shaker Kitchen
Cleethorpes
This kitchen in Cleethorpes is a large, well-appointed classic shaker design built around a strong central island, a focal-point Ilve range cooker and bespoke oak breakfast larder
The Häcker Hampton painted timber shaker door, Dekton Bergen worktops, antique bronze handles and splashback give the kitchen warmth and traditional character, while the island with its twin wine coolers and waterfall ends brings a considered, generous quality to the centre of the room.
Project details
-
The project came to us through a local furniture and interiors company who were managing a wider internal renovation of the client’s home.
The brief was for a large, impressive classic kitchen that would serve as the heart of the home. The client had a clear direction in terms of style (painted shaker, traditional in character), a retained American-style fridge freezer they wanted incorporated, and a requirement for generous wine storage.
-
The island is the visual and practical centre of the room. With waterfall ends, twin integrated wine coolers and central storage for wine bottles, it is both a working prep area and statement piece. The Ilve range cooker sits on the opposite wall beneath a large canopy extractor, positioned so it faces the entrance to the room and forms a natural focal point when you walk in. The American-style fridge freezer was incorporated into the tall unit run, so the existing appliance feels like part of the design rather than a leftover from the previous kitchen.
Detailed end panels with beading add a traditional cabinetmaking quality giving the kitchen a sense of craftsmanship that goes beyond the door style alone. The bespoke oak breakfast larder, built on site to suit the specific space available houses a toaster, coffee machine and kettle in a warm, illuminated oak interior: everything needed for the morning routine, kept out of sight but close to hand.
-
The cabinetry is Häcker Hampton, a painted timber shaker, with antique bronze handles throughout. The worktops are Dekton Bergen, a surface with a strong stone-like character that works well alongside painted cabinetry, with matching upstands and windowsills running throughout the kitchen to tie the surfaces together consistently.
The Quooker Fusion Round in patinated brass is fitted at the 1.5 bowl undermount stainless steel sink. The brass finish ties the tap into the antique bronze handle and splashback palette, giving the sink area a coherent story. The Ilve range cooker provides the cooking capacity and visual presence the brief required. Flooring is LVT, specified to suit the traditional character of the kitchen and the wider interiors direction of the renovation.
-
The installation was a dry fit: a straightforward supply and fit without plumbing, electrics or structural or building works. Sam visited site on several occasions during the installation to check progress and ensure the specification was being delivered as planned. The collaboration with the interiors company meant the kitchen needed to integrate cleanly with the wider renovation schedule, and this was managed without a hitch.
-
The finished result is a generous, warm family kitchen. The Hampton door, the Ilve range cooker, the bespoke oak larder, the twin wine coolers and the antique bronze detailing all contribute to a kitchen that has the traditional quality and considered character the brief called for.
