Kitchen pricing

A realistic starting point

One of the first questions most people ask is how much a new kitchen is likely to cost. The honest answer is that it depends on the room, the layout, the furniture, the appliances and the level of work involved. Specification is what most significantly drives the final cost: the furniture range, appliance choice, worktop material and level of finish all have a big bearing on the overall figure, as does the amount of cabinetry and worktop the room requires. We always aim to provide a very competitive quote. We are not expensive for any given specification chosen. Our most premium offerings can be matched by few and our more affordable ranges frequently work out more cost effective than the bigger retailers such as Howdens or Wren.

That being said, it is helpful to have some realistic guide prices early on.

The examples below are there to give you a rough idea of how specification adds up, based on furniture, worktops, appliances, sinks and taps, lighting and dry-fit installation. These are based on the plan shown here of a typical good-sized kitchen. A smaller kitchen would be more affordable and a larger kitchen would be more expensive. These are not fixed packages. They are just a starting point to help you understand the kind of investment involved in a Samuel Neal kitchen and show how specification can change the kitchen cost even though the layout is exactly the same in all the examples.

  • The overall shape and size of the room has a big influence on cost. More cabinetry, more worktop and more complex layouts naturally increase the overall figure.

Furniture range, appliance choice, sink and tap selection, lighting and worktop material will all affect the final price, and two kitchens with a similar layout can vary significantly depending on what is chosen.

  • The examples above are based on indicative dry-fit installation. They do not include wider building works that may be needed to prepare the room properly.

Plastering, electrics, flooring, decorating, plumbing changes or structural work can all sit outside the core kitchen supply and installation cost.

  • One of the most useful things Sam can do early on is help you understand where your money is best spent, avoiding the pitfalls of false economies and helping to create a balanced kitchen that’s excellent value for money.

Some spaces are straightforward. Others need more planning, more preparation and more coordination. That is why these prices are indicative only and a real quote has to be tailored to your space.

  • Yes. Sam will always design with your budget in mind and help you understand where different choices affect the price. The aim is to get strong value without compromising on the quality that matters.

  • Where wider works are involved, those costs are usually discussed separately as part of the overall project planning. Our dry-fit installation price includes project management of all other recommended trades. Sam’s role is to help keep the process clear and also make sure the scope is understood properly before anything moves forward.
